2010 National Stationery Show

2010 National Stationery ShowToday was the first day of the 2010 National Stationery Show at The Jacob Javitz Convention Center in NYC.  This was the second year in a row that I was lucky enough to be able to attend and I got to see tons of cool and unique home office supplies.  In the coming weeks and months I hope to have lots of new product reviews of the things I saw today, and I also got the inside scoop on a few exciting new products that I’m sure you will all be interested in seeing if and when they become available.  In addition to getting to see lots of great new stuff, I also got to catch up with some of the wonderful people who over the last year and a half have been great supporters of Office Supply Geek.  I just wanted to take a minute to recognize those folks for their support, and of course for their great products, and soon enough Ill have some brand new stuff to share with you.

Exaclair – Unfortunately Karen was not around today, I think many of you might know her from her presence on all sorts of pen and paper blogs and forums around the web, as well as the Quo Vadis Blog.  I did however get to meet a bunch of other incredibly nice folks who were very generous with their time, including Christine, the President of Exaclair, as well as Elliot who is one of their sales managers.  They showed me lots of their new products that I am looking forward to writing about.  If you aren’t familiar with their products, check out my review of their Rhodia Web Notebook, which is an awesome notebook.

three by three – The folks at three by three have some really awesome products, between the visually appealing design, environmentally friendly make up, and their super useful functionality, you can’t go wrong with their products.  It was great getting to catch up with them and see some of their new stuff that I’m looking forward to doing some reviews on.  Here is a review of their Bamboo Dry Erase Entry Butler.

ecosystem – My timing was great when I stopped over at the ecosystem booth, I got to meet with a ton of great folks from there to talk about their awesome notebooks.  They had some good news about a new color (grape) and also mentioned that they are starting to sell to other major retailers other than just Barnes & Noble, so soon enough it should be even easier to find some of their notebooks.  Here is my review of their ecosystem Environmentally Friendly Journals.

O’BON – Talking with these guys about their products you can see that they are clearly passionate about not only high quality products, but also keeping a standard of being as environmentally friendly as possible.  Their recycled newspaper pencils and sugar cane notebooks are really nice, and they have some new products coming out soon that I am looking forward to seeing and reviewing.

Whitelines – I missed these guys last year, but luckily I caught up with them this time to see some of their new stuff, which looks just as cool as the other notebooks and paper products they have.  I also found out that they do custom ordering as well, so if your company wants really cool personalized or branded notebooks, check them out.  Here is one of my Whitelines notebook reviews to check out.

Jac Zagoory – A really creative, smart, and talented artist with all of his great pens, and pen holders.  Always interesting to chat with him about all of the meanings behind his designs, some are obvious, others are not as obvious but still creative.  Check out my review of some of his stuff here, and keep an eye out for more from Jac.

Contact Keeper –  These guys came up with a great design for holding and organizing business cards that is really helpful in a trade show environment.  It’s nice to see someone do something so well and just keep focused on it like they do.    Here is my original review of their business card organizer.

Thanks to everyone who was there that I got to chat with today, and I hope I didn’t miss anyone, the 2010 National Stationery Show was a great way to spend the day.
