Hi! I was looking up this pen, I got one on sale at a Japanese bookstore in LA. I wanted to buy more because this is absolutely the best pen I own. It is sturdy, reliable, it lives in a bag with heavy insane use on it’s minute off-moments and comes to and from work with me every day. The grip is addictively comfortable, the weight inspirational. I did not have to hold it in a special way, it fit with perfection to me.

However, I am a very very small handed woman. To give an idea, I am 5’3 100 pounds. So as you can imagine my hands are very small. This is the perfect pen for small hands.

It is a pleasure writing with this pen. Mine is a pink grip style, because that was the only sale colour.

I just wanted to add that in case anyone gets a chance to purchase this pen, I recommend it. I’ll buy it off you if you don’t like it ;D Thats how much I love this pen!

I think gripping sections that are a smidge too high is a not uncommon issue. And it isn’t just for squishy grips like the Alpha gel bp.

Glad to see that it was helpful to you, that is my goal here to help folks out so they dont have to spend the small fortune that I do on this stuff. It also makes me happy to know that Im not some kind of “low pen holding freak” and there is someone else out there who would have the same problem.

I really like your review. I agree Uni-Ball has some majorly smooth pens in their line up. I recently purchased a pink and gray HD mechanical shaka pencil and I love it. I wasn’t sure about the pen though because I hold them lower than pencils and I don’t usually use the grips, it was good to hear you mention that you had to hold it higher than usual, it would probably be the same for me.
