Uniball Vision Elite and BLX Blue Black Comparison

The other day when we posted the review of the new Uniball Vision Elite BLX pens, a question came up regarding how the BLX vs the regular Vision Elite in Blue Black compared.  I figured that since the question came up, I’d pick up the standard Vision Elite in Blue Black and do a quick comparison because I want to make sure the site is addressing your needs as a reader whenever I can.

For the most part I personally cant see any difference between the colors.  The only real difference I see really stems from the fact that the standard blue black Vision Elite that I picked up is a .8mm (bold) compared to the .5mm Vision Elite BLX.  The .8mm version being wider, just happens to show more of the shading and variation (bonus points if you can find the spelling mistake in my writing sample) in color that you get.  Overall I love both of the pens, and you cant go wrong with either the Standard Vision Elite in Blue Black or the  Uniball Vision Elite BLX color series.  Also, there has been a string of Uniball reviews and write ups over the last few days so Ill mix it up a bit going forward,  I don’t want the site to appear biased, just so happened that they have a few new products, and new products always get the priority here.

I have a question, the original (non-BLX) Vision Elite Micro Blue-Black pens don’t flow smooth like the Micro Black. Are these new ones a little smoother to write with? The difference is really minimal but it bothers me that it’s not the very same to the point that I can’t use them anymore. I use just the Black and the Red because they have exactly the same “ink pressure” or ball rolling feeling, the Blue is too smooth and the Blue-Black like I said before, a little too hard.

Please check and let us know :) Thanks.

I recently ordered a set of 5 assorted Uni-ball Vision Elite BLX in the 0.5 mm point from Amazon and accidentally received the 0.8 mm bold. I opened them at first expecting to be using what I ordered but was shocked when this fat line started skipping in and out of ink and then realized the difference in the point size mix-up. The reason I’m posting this is that the set of Bold that I got were very poor quality in terms of fluidity and consistency of flow. I hope it was exclusive to the set that I got, but I wonder because I found some level of dysfunction in all 5 pens. I am hoping to easily exchange them for what I originally had ordered, but came here to check and see if anyone else was experiencing the same issue. I probably would’ve just kept them and ordered the smaller point as well, if they worked like a normal uni-ball. By the way, thanks for all of the useful and right on reviews. They’re great.

Andrea – I noticed the same thing! I even sent back all of my blue-black pens to be replaced, thinking it was a bad batch. The new ones they sent were the same: very scratchy and hard to move compared to the black or red or blue. I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed this!
