My local staples had one of these on display to test out. ...so I did. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the pocket clip just pops off if it's pulled out even just slightly too much? I mean, this pocket clip would pop off just trying to clip it to my pants... very cheap! Then again, maybe the one staples had on display was just a dud. I don't know. But if you have one try giving a little tug on the pocket clip as though you were going to clip it to something a little thick and see if the whole clip pops off.

@A - i didnt notice the feeling of requiring more effort to write with , but I honestly didnt spend a ton of time writing with the pen. After breaking it out to write with again though, I can see what you mean. Thanks for stopping by and sharing that observation with us.

So I think I discovered what has not thrilled me about these -- writing with them requires more effort than you'd think! While it's fairly smooth, it requires a good amount of pressure to write. Maybe I've just become acclimated to rollerballs, but this feels like a bit of a chore. I've also noticed that the plastic top has a flimsy sound to it, like it was merely an upgraded Bic.

I think they got the aesthetics pretty much right, and most of the functionality, but the execution is lacking.

Thanks for this review. I had been waiting for my Staples to get these pens in, but once they did I wasn't willing to shell out 7 bucks only to be less than thrilled. They look okay, but nothing special. I too thought the barrel would be thicker.

@A - As always Im glad to know that I am not the only one to find that the pens were lacking something.

@Alberto - Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for the holiday wishes, hope you have a great New Year as well. Im in the same boat as you when it comes to ballpoint pens, not my thing unless its a Uniball Jetstream.

Nice review and interesting look, but not really into ballpoint pens myself. Happy New Year!

I agree wholeheartedly. I bought a couple of these, and while they're nice, I was not wowed. I can't figure out what's missing, as I love the minimalism of the pens, but maybe it's just that I was expecting a nicer feel when I'm writing with it?
