Quo Vadis 18 Month Monthly 4 Planner and Calendar

The Quo Vadis 18 Month – Monthly 4 Calender

With 2009 coming to an end, you still have some time to pick out that next calendar or planner and lucky for us, my friends from Exaclair were kind enough to send me this 2009-2010, 18 month monthly planner to review and share with you.  Right off the bat, one of the things that I like about any of the Quo Vadis products is that they are made in the USA, and it’s not always easy to find good quality home office supplies that are made here.

The first thing that you notice about this Quo Vadis 18 Month Monthly 4 Planner and Calendar is that the sturdy 7″ x 9 3/8″ vinyl cover that it comes with can be reused year over year because the planner part just slides into it.  It is also a pretty thin planner, I am used to my daily Levenger planner that has pages for each day, but this one being a monthly format is much skinnier and is great for slipping into your laptop bag or briefcase.

One of the interesting things about the monthly layout in the Quo Vadis planner is that it does a Monday through Sunday format.  This is different from the standard Saturday through Sunday layout on most planners.  Personally I like this layout a little better, but this is really a personal preference so its good to be aware of it before purchasing your planner for the year.

Some of the other features that this planner includes are as follows:

  • Space to write month’s Priority, and reminders to Phone, Fax-E-mail, Write, See-Do, Cash Due, To Pay, Notes
  • Extra white, super smooth paper
  • 90g, acid-free and pH neutral paper – Same as the awesome paper in the Rhodia Web Notebook
  • Annual planning calendars for 2010 and 2011
  • 4 calendars – 2 future months; 2 past months
  • Tear-off corner opens to month in progress
  • Sewn binding, lays flat when open
  • Room for notes each day
  • Country specific maps with time zones
  • List of international holidays and area codes
  • Bound in address book
  • Refillable – if you need just the refill, you can find them here.

Writing in the Quo Vadis 18 Month Monthly 4 Planner and Calendar ends up being a great experience because of the 90g paper that as I mentioned before is the same as what you will find in the Rhodia Web Notebook.  I tried a few different pens on the paper, including fountain pens, gel ink pens, roller ball pens, and a sharpie pen.  Each of the pens performed really well with the paper, with no feathering and no bleed or show through at all.  It is interesting to note however that the ink that they use to print the calendar lines and dates does show through a little bit, which is surprising to me.  I would have thought that they would be able to do a better job of keeping their own printing from showing through, especially on such high quality paper.  Here is a quick scan of a writing sample in this Quo Vadis planner:

Although I am used to a more bulky daily planner for my day-to-day work needs, I really like this planner, and I’m going to give it a shot for doing the planning for this blog.  Lately I’ve been getting a little unorganized and off track with some of the ideas I have for the site, and I think this will be a great help at keeping me on track.  If this looks like the planner for you to start 2010 with, then you can pick it up here from Amazon.com.
