The other day on Twitter, @michaelramm asked how I and a few other folks keep their pens organized, and I promised to get a picture up this weekend, so here it is.

Now I wouldnt call this keeping them “organized” but it is how I keep them. This is the drawer for a Levenger item that I have, and I decided to dedicate one drawer of it to pens for now.

I dont keep my fountain pens or other more expensive pens in there. Those pens usually get kept on my home desk, work desk, and in my Levenger Circa notebooks. You can see lots of Sharpies, Post-it Flag pen/highlighters, and Uniball Signos in there. I’ve also got a bunch of Signos, a Stainless Steel Sharpie, and Post-it pens that are in packages yet, so those dont go in that drawer or else they would take up too much room.

I plan on doing a review of the Levenger item that this drawer belongs to shortly, so that is why I am intentionally not giving away too many details on this one.

Thanks so much for showing us the highly organized pen drawer that you have. LOL! I will be hard pressed to live up to such high expectations. I started using the Uni-ball Signo 207 (0.5mm) today. So far, I am liking it. My only complaint is with the grip size. I will probably get used to it.

I bought a Bisley 5-Drawer Cabinet at the Container Store. They are 11 inches wide, 15 deep and 13 tall. They are organized by Fountain Pen, Roller Ball/Gel, Ball Point, Mechanical Pencile and a spare drawer that will be probably be used for refills, leads, etc.

The Bisley drawers are expensive – IKEA has a look-alike for about a third of the cost.

I use one of those kitchen utensil organizers for my pens/pencils/other small supplies
they fit quite nicely and you can add as many sections as needed

Thats a good idea, the good thing about those is you can find them in a ton of different shapes, sizes, colors and materials to match wherever you want to put it.
