Giveaway Red 550x84

With the holidays here, its time to start searching for gifts, and sometimes it can be hard to find that perfect gift for your co-worker, that little extra gift as a compliment to something else, or a few stocking stuffers.  I think there are a ton of good options in the world of office supplies that can fit the bill for these situations, and these are my top picks.

In addition to the list below, the kind folks over at JetPens are also giving away a $10 gift card to a random commenter on this thread.  Leave your comment and tell us what one item you would add to my list below, Im sure there will be 100 different things that I didn’t include, but lets hear it, you may end up helping someone who stops by this thread to get some gift ideas.  Rules for the contest are below the top ten list.

  1. Uniball Signo DX – A great value, and one of the nicest writing gel pens you are going to find.  Comes in a wide variety of colors and tip sizes as well.
  2. Uniball Kuro Toga – This is the only pencil you should ever need, I cant imagine using any other.  Stays sharp as long as you write.
  3. Platinum Preppy – A fun and inexpensive way to get started with a fountain pen.
  4. Sharpie Pen Grip – VERY nice writing pen and very popular addition to the series that is also very comfortable to write with.
  5. Stainless Steel Sharpie – A classic that every office supply junkie should have, and this version looks fantastic with its stainless steel cap and body.
  6. Uniball Jetstream – I dont think you can do any better than the Jetstream if you are looking for a ballpoint pen
  7. Rhodia Web Notebook – Probably the nicest paper I’ve written on yet, works well with all pens, especially including fountain pens.
  8. Moleskine Volant Mini – Perfect notebook for carrying in your pocket or purse, its small, and portable, and handles most inks very well
  9. Zebra Sharbo X – I dont own one of these….yet, but they are some of the nicest looking multi pens I’ve seen, and everyone who tries them seems to love them
  10. Nomadic PE-06 Side Zipper Pen Case – Great little pen case,  I dont own this one either, but Im a recent covert to actually using a pen case, and this one looks perfect.  Wish they had the black one in stock, but there are a few other nice color options available still.

While not specifically pen related, I’m have to go with a FranklinCovey planner since it was one of the few practical gifts I’ve received that I’ve actually used! Might need a big stocking for the monarch size though:)

Can’t forget the Lamy Safari – a great introduction to the world of fountain pens. It’s both sturdy and reliable and can be cartridge or bottle filled. Or maybe some Field Notes.

  • Ronin

I want to add the Uni-pin fineliner in this list. It’s a good writing AND drawing instrument. I have the pen in three different points. =)

  • http://xom.blogs.com/xoom meg

Pentel Slicci 0.4 for me too! (I would say the Uni-Ball Signo DX 0.18 set of eight colors, but I don’t see it on the JetPens site anymore…)

  • mary

maruman mnesymome notebookes are the bomb. their little inspiration notebooks are awesome.

  • Luis

Oh I’d do anything for a Kuru Toga!!!

  • Jill

I’m already a fan of the Signo DX, Jetstream in 0.5mm, and kuro toga! My only addition would be the G2, blue, 0.38mm. Those are my staple as a grad student!

  • Dave

    Thanks for the contest!
All I want for Christmas is a Uniball Jetstream.

  • zzipper

Levengers Circa Simply Irresistible Sampling Kit is my favorite gift since it also comes with an equal value gift certificate. The receiver is driven back to the Levenger site to see what other goodies are available.

  • http://future-nostalgic.blogspot.com/ Sam

UniBall Style Fit multipen – just love it! Versatility personified.

  • http://pennington-on-the-paper.blogspot.com Lauren

Ugh, I hope someone buys me a stainless steel Sharpie… maybe I need to start dropping better hints.

I’m making handbound notebooks for Christmas with blends of lots of papers… they’re very fun to make!

  • http://www.ohsoboring.com Matt T.

I’ll take just about everything on that list, please!

  • http://atdpweb.berkeely.edu/choco-latte Sarah

Hmm..don’t see any planners, so I’ll suggest a Quo Vadis Daily Pocket. :)

  • Skywarner

Pilot G2′s… One can never have enough of the .07′s in blue.

    Lamy Safari

  • Mike Fizz

    OOOO PICK ME!!!

  • http://sketch-books.blogspot.com/ Gentian

Those are all great gift ideas! I think the design of the Nomdic cases seem nice, as well as the new 122KCal pencil cases that are on Jet Pens now. They are in Pantone colours. ^__^ Thanks for the giveaway.

  • kristin

ooh! great picks, i second all of these. i love my kuru toga. pick me please! :D

  • Rachel

You already have my two favorite pens at the moment on the list– Sharpie pen (I like the retractable version though) and Uniball Jetstream (.5 tip). I love jetpens.com!

  • http://nemlu.com Scott U

I love my Kuro Toga… but it’s a little to light weight. If someone would put the kuro toga mechanism into a Pentel Kerry, I’d never go looking for another pencil again!

  • Sheila

i think getting a lamy safari would be nice!

  • Shelly

I was eying the Uniball Signo DX for such a long time! I’m a student and I’m very crucial when it comes to taking notes and the pens I use. When I highlight texts, some of the pens I use aren’t waterproof.. so they smudge! But, if I can get a hand on these babies.. it’ll be amazing!

  • Jamillah

The Uni-ball Signo Broad is the pen that I adore. I scrapbook and make cards so this is the one that I like the best.

  • Der Bingle

    Good list.

The Kuro Toga is very nice, but the fixed sleeve loses it a few points in my book. I prefer the Uni Shift Pipe Lock.

The Jetsream is, of course, great. It would be fantastic if they could make Jetstream ink in as many colors as they have Signo ink.

I haven’t tried the Platinum Preppy, but the Pilot Varsity is a fantastic disposable fp.

The Sharbo X is a nice choice if you want a multi-pen that is also a ‘fine’ pen.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  • http://niroze.net/ Christopher Humphries

    * Lamy Safari
    * Pentel Slicci 0.3
    * Pilot Hi-Tec-C 0.25 and 0.3

  • pat

I like JetPens! I love so many of their products and I really like how they do business.

  • http://okami-whatever.blogspot.com Julie (Okami)

Love JetPens – I would add a J. Herbin Glass Dipping Pen.

  • bangmaster

    Trying my luck…

  • http://www.twitter.com/alwayswrite22 Ariel Crawley

That would be a great early Christmas gift!

  • David Emmons

    Also trying my luck.

  • Oscar Bolanos

As a multi-pen fan, I’d add the Uniball Signo MF3.
    Pick me random.org!

  • http://torrey-view.blogspot.com/ Andrew Hoffman

I’m hoping to win that gift card!

    Andy

  • John

Pentel Sliccies – solid multi-pen that all gel pen users would love.

    In for the win!!

  • Alex

I prefer the Uniball Signo RT, so that’s what I’d add.

  • http://sircram.wordpress.com Eric

    I would suggest the Uni-Ball JetStream Multipen…

The Pilot Cavalier is the ultimate in practical workmanlike fountain pen perfection, and I wish I could have one of each color.

    Hope I win! :)

  • Mike

The Zebra Sharbo X is a fantastic pen that really is worth checking out…I own two but would love another one!!!

  • Erin

I love the Slicci.. for anyone that likes a fine tip pen it is a really great option. I thought I loved the old Pentel Hybrid but then I met the Slicci.

it would be awesome to win a gc to jetpens!

  • Charles Barilleaux

I would add a bottle of amodex.

  • http://www.beehive5.blogspot.com Lynn B.

    I would add Bookdarts!

Or pink erasers. How I adore big pink erasers.

Or Post-it Notes, in all shapes and sizes. One must have a wide selection, after all.

    Or…

  • Marianne O.

I would add the Pilot Croquis Rotating Lead Holder 4.0 mm (6B) to the list. I’d be overjoyed at finding one of those in my Christmas stocking.

  • alice

Copic Multiliner would be my addition. Yay! I love Jet Pens.

  • Andy Mathes

I would add the platinum preppy highlighter!

  • gh

While i like the idea of the Rhodia Web Notebook you have listed, the sizes it comes in are just too small for my taste. So, i would add the Kokuyo Systemic Special Cover Refillable Notebooks to your list.

  • Brantley

    No Whammies, No Whammies, Stop!

  • http://bearsbar.blogspot.com Superpooky

I’ve come across the Midori shaped D clips at jetpens. They have cute animal shapes but for Christmas stockings they have (not surprisingly) some Christmas shaped ones. I love shaped paper clips, not sure why!

  • http://soarabovethestorm.blogspot.com Tiffany.C

    I’ll add Pentel Graphgear 1000 Mechanical Pencil 0.3mm; i love this :D

or the 0.5mm Pentel Ain Supplio Nanotech Scented Pencil Lead… :) )

  • http://buyonlinenow.com Brandon

Let’s see what happens! Thanks for the site!

  • K. Moore

oh I am so crossing all my fingers and toes! I NEVER win anything but I’m entering this as I am a 30 year office supply addict and just found this site. LOVING IT.

    BTW, Jetpens rules.

  • http://www.nonpolynomial.com qDot

LIttle black sharpie. You can never have enough little black sharpies, because you lose them and then you find them at a point you weren’t even aware you needed one. But you totally did. And there it is. It knew.

  • Sammi

Woo hoo! I hope I win!

  • Marcus A.

You’ve got all the bases covered, gel pens, ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, felt tip pens/markers, etc. If I were to add one thing to that list it would be the best bang for your buck brush pen out there: the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen for Calligraphy (XGKFP-A).

  • Kit

    !!!

  • Monica

That’s a good list you have there.

    Here’s hoping to win! Lol

  • Sharon

I love my Ohto Ceramic Roller Ball. It costs a bit more than the listed pens, but it’s refillable so it will last.

  • Mark Kawakami

If I win, this $10 gift certificate will end up costing me about $50, given how I apparently lose all self-control when on jetpens. Still, haven’t ordered from them in a couple of months, and I’m feelin’ the itch.

  • Cal Williams

    Thank you, in advance.

  • Zack Seibert

    Count me in!

  • Eduardo Trigo

I’d seriously love to own that Sharbo X multipen!!

    Thanks and Happy Holidays!

    Eddie

  • Gordon

I much prefer Rhodia top wirebound notebooks, so I’ll add that to the list. Perhaps even a Field Notes 3-Pack for a cheap set of journals (http://fieldnotesbrand.com/about/).

  • Martie

i would recommend the Sailor Recruit Fountain pen, it is a great addition to your pen collection. It is a slender pen but writes very smoothly and almost better than some of the more pricey pens. Only complaint is i haven’t been able to find a convertor to fir, but just got some colored cartridges and it works fine. :o )

  • edina

I like the Kokuyo Capara Pencil Cases – perfect for carrying all your writing implements.

  • Craig

    I’m feeling lucky

  • Scott K.

Gotta have a Lamy fountain pen on there somewhere, along with some excellent notebooks.

    Sign me up!

  • Kim J

I think you need the 122KCal Roll Pencil Case in wasabi to carry all your new stuff! It’s a roll-up instead of zip up.
    Kim

  • mark

would love the chance to win the card. great blog as well!

  • http://randomdouglas.wordpress.com/ Douglas

I would add a Faber Castell Gripmatic 0.7 mechanical pencil. With the Faber Castell Leads, this pencil is pretty much one of the most awesome things to write with. :D

  • Elizabeth

I just got two multipens, the Pentel Sliccies and the Uni Style Fit, so I’d add one of those to the list. I’m liking both of them, but so far I think I like the Style Fit a little better. :)

  • Dawn

    Sign me up!

  • http://writersxblock.wordpress.com Jocelyn

I’d add Stabilo fineliner pens in different colors. I don’t know if they sell them in the US (I’ve only ever gotten them in Germany), but I always use them for class notes, and would feel very sad if my notes suddenly got less colorful :)

  • Jason B.

    Pens. Yes, please!

  • http://www.jdgreensoul.com yalonda

The jetstream bold (in blue! Retractable) is my fav pen. I would add one of the mini staplers or a small stapler w/ easy grip. I also like a nice refillable notebook cover w/closure, and pref a slot for writing implements. Stationery set w/ matching notebook is also a nice touch.

  • Al Gonzalez

I love my Kerry pencil by Pentel. It looks nice and the cap protects the tip while still using a plunger type lead advance. see http://www.jetpens.com/search.php?q=kerry

  • Rachael

    Yay! Thanks OSG!

  • Arlo

Well for those of us who are very tough on pens, I am a huge fan of the zebra F-701. I have broken at least a dozen 301s because of the plastic meets steel, meet random hard objects (steering wheels, desks) in a pants pocket. The 701 will cause more damage to what it hits or my leg than itself. This pen and a moleskin makes a perfect pair for heading out to do some sketching or random notetaking.

  • marco bona

I use a Lamy Safari black ballpoint, is my favorite pen.
    Good luck for all.

  • sue cho

    pilot frixion .4mm =]

I really love those Pilot Parallels. I emailed my fiance the links just a few days ago as hints for possible x-mas presents =)

  • Melissa

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Jordan

Can’t go without my Zebra G301 pen. In my line of work this thing takes a beating and keeps writing. I use it every day.

  • http://schoolsupplydance.blogspot.com Melinda

    I love jetpens!

  • Faith

I have just found – and now bookmarked – your site! I can see that I will be spending a lot of time here; you’ve got some great reviews, and I am teaching my nieces how to fall in love with good pens and paper, too.

  • clare

Oh!! I love that preppy fountain pen! It will be mine :)

  • TuxGirl

I love my pens. My first fountain pen was a Lamy Safari, which I still love immensely. :)

  • http://strugglingwriter.wordpress.com strugglingwriter

    Noodler’s ink :)

  • Alan Claver

This is amazing. Of course, I don’t think there is anything at JetPens that I haven’t purchased yet. Just kidding but I do have a big supply.

  • http://www.journalingarts.wordpress.com Cynthia

Ohhh, a contest. I would love to win!

  • http://eyepees.blogspot.com Gordon

    In it to win it!
