Welcome to 2018, and one of the most exciting reviews EVER, I mean nothing for the next 362 days is going to live up to this, so enjoy it. 🙂 Today we have some pretty nice Translucent Project File Jackets by Smead. These are great for protecting and storing important documents that you reference frequently, or that you just want to have easily accessible. The version I have here is the basic 4 color pack, but there is also a set of clear, as well as a set that has three hole punches. Either way, you can check them out here on Amazon and see all of the other options.
One of the nice things about these Translucent File Folders is that they open on two sides, but also have a flexible tab that allows you to somewhat close one size to keep your documents more secure. In the picture above you can see the flexible tab that is in this photo, closed on top of the folder flap to keep that edge closed.
Its hard to take pictures of translucent and flat glossy items, so this was my best attempt at getting a picture to demonstrate that this tab is flexible and can either lay on top of the main flap to keep things secure, or you can tuck it under the flap to keep the folder open on this outside long edge.
Something that really seems to set these apart from other similar plastic folders that I’ve tried, is how close to the edge the paper files can get. If you look at the above picture, you can see that the sheet of paper I have in there goes almost right to the edge which is nice so you don’t have the other side hanging out to possibly get damaged.
If you turn these Translucent File Folders around to the other side, you can see that there is enough of an overlap on the plastic to still adequately protect your files. The whole thing measures about 9.25″ x 11.75″ to give you an idea how big this is beyond the size of a standard sheet of paper. In addition to the size of these to help protect your documents, they are both waterproof and tear proof so these can take a pretty good beating before the elements even have half a chance of getting at your documents.
Well thats about all I have to say about these, oh other than they seem to be pretty limited in any sort of static electricity, which is nice because that makes it easy to slide your documents in and out of these color coded file folders. Its probably not been long enough that I’ve been using these, but I also have yet to see any of the ink on my documents rub off or start to stick to the plastic inside of the folders, which can sometimes be the case with a product like these. So far so good though, so check ’em out on Amazon right here if you are so inclined, they seem like a good deal at this point.
