The RevolveR Bound Journal
Posted by: | Comments
The RevolveR Bound Journal is one of the innovative office supplies that I discovered at the National Stationery Show this past May. When I passed the booth for the RevolveR Bound Journals at the Stationery Show, I didnt notice how unique this item was, and it is the prime example of why you shouldnt judge a book by its cover…with this one you should judge it by BOTH of its covers.
Jumbo Binder Clip
Posted by: | CommentsUPDATE: These are now available to buy here on Amazon.com, here at Organize.com: Jumbo Binder Clips in Silver by DCI Decor and yet again here in red instead of silver, and in a set of 4, also from Amazon.com. These seem to be a very popular item, as I’ve watched them go in and out of stock frequently over the last year, so I would suggest ordering from one of these three places as soon as you recognize the need, or you may be in for a wait before they are stocking them again.
We all know that one of the most popular and widely used office supplies is the binder clip. They are really versatile tools to have around the office for clipping, holding, and modifying things, so when I saw this giant binder clip at Bob Slate Stationer on my trip to Boston, I had to have it.
Carolina Pad Sasquatch Recycled Notebook Reviews
Posted by: | CommentsApril over at Carolina Pad (@carolinapad on Twitter) was kind enough to give me a stack of new office supplies for review, so this is the first bunch that Ill be reviewing. All of the products in this review are part of the Carolina Pad Sasquatch line, which are environmentally friendly. Carolina Pad also has a fun website to go with the Sasquatch brand that includes environmental tips, links, interactive games, and blogs. In addition to being based in the US (Charlotte, NC) they also do great work through their “Commerce with a Conscience” program that helps out teachers who work in low-income schools, and their partnership to donate a portion of the sales one of their lines to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Slice Ceramic Cutting Tools
Posted by: | Comments
Three of the Slice brand ceramic cutting tools that should be of interest to the office supply crowd.
One of the great things about attending the National Stationery Show this year was that it opened my eyes to some products that fall into the office supply category that I did not instantly think of when thinking of office supplies. One of those items, or groups of items are cutting tools. Usually one might think of scissors or letter openers and then move on. This office supply review will take a look at the Slice brand of cutting tools by Karim Rashid.
Made by Humans Staple Free Stapler
Posted by: | CommentsIm trying to mix things up a little bit so we will be taking a break from the usual office supplies such as pens and notebooks, to take a look at the Made by Humans Staple Free Stapler. I picked this up on my trip to Boston when I stopped at a great little store called Black Ink with lots of office supplies and stationery type items. I forgot to mention this store on my Office Supply Geek’s Tour of Boston post, so Ill have to update that one to include them.
Private Reserve Ebony Green Ink Review
Posted by: | CommentsSince I started this office supply review blog I became fascinated and addicted to blue black inks, and it has now also led me to become fascinated with green black inks. This review will take a look at the Private Reserve Ebony Green ink that I picked up from Goldspot, who carries a ton of Private Reserve inks here, in addition to their other ink and pen selections. As I always try to point out when it applies, Goldspot did give me a small discount on my purchase of this ink for the review.
Old School Review BIC 4-Color Ballpoint Multi-Pen
Posted by: | CommentsOK, so dont pretend like you didnt (or still dont) have one of these and you love(ed) it, because I did (and now do again) and it was the best pen ever at the time. I was thrilled when I came across this pen on my recent trip to Boston at Bob Slate Stationer. It was a great store with a ton of awesome office supplies, and I just couldnt pass this pen up. If you dont live near a Bob Slate Stationer, you can also pick up this classic on Amazon.com in multiple packaging options. I also recently was reminded of this pen by someone on Twitter (@AFondMemory) who had one pictured on her site, which brought back some…well fond memories and made me want to get my hands on one of these, she also has some nice hand modified journals for sale over there if you are in the market for something like that.
Rhodia Webnotebook with 90g Paper
Posted by: | CommentsA few days ago I got a nice office supply surprise in the mail, Karen from Exaclair sent me one of the brand new Rhodia Webnotebooks (Available via Amazon)with the soft ivory color Clairefontaine 90g paper to review. As far as I know, these will not be available in stores until late July or early August, so I was thrilled at the opportunity to get my hands on an advance copy of this notebook for a review.
In the past I’ve used the smaller version of the Rhodia Webnotebook (this larger version is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″) with the 80g paper, which I already liked a lot and you can see it used in many of my fountain pen and ink reviews. The logical assumption here would be that the upgrade to the 90g paper would make for a notebook that I liked even more. Read More→
Jac Zagoory Pen Holders and Pen
Posted by: | CommentsBack in May when I had the opportunity to attend the 2009 National Stationery Show, and write some posts about my experiences there, I mentioned that I got to meet Jac Zagoory, designer of some really nice pen holders and pens. After chatting with Jac a bit and inspecting his products I decided that it would be great to be able to do a review of some of his work, and he agreed to send a few samples my way so I could write about them. The following review takes a look at three of his pen holders, and one of his pen designs, so this is a bit longer than my usual reviews, hopefully you enjoy nonetheless.
An Office Supply Geek’s Tour of Boston
Posted by: | CommentsAs promised, this post will document some of the great office supply related stuff that you can find if you travel to Boston, MA. I though that the most fitting way to start this post off was with a tribute to a man who was not afraid to use a pen, and use it BIG. As you probably know, among other things, John Hancock is famous for his large and quite nicely styled signature on The Declaration of Independence. It was really cool to see his grave site, and also those of Paul Revere, Sam Adams, and Crispus Attucks all in the same cemetery. One great thing about this write up before I continue though is that I got some help from some of my Twitter followers on some must see places along the way, so thanks to Tom at Goldspot Pens and to GBLPR for your help! The rest of this post is much more directly related to office supplies, so lets move on.
An Office Supply Geek’s Tour of Washington DC
Posted by: | Comments
Didnt realize this was going on at our hotel, but it explained the massive trucks with satellites and television equipment in front of the hotel.
I’ve noticed that office supplies are really everywhere you look, and Washington DC is no exception. The month of June happens to be full of travel for me this year, last weekend was Washington DC, this weekend is Boston, and the weekend after that will be Vegas. I figured that full reviews might be a bit hard to squeeze in on my normal 3 a week pace, so I at least want try to and document my travels with whatever I found that was related to office supplies. Following are some pen and other related items that I came across in Washington, so with the terrible economy and poor job market, Im hoping that this virtual office supply tour of our Nation’s Capital might be enjoyable for you. Pistachio Recycled Monogram Notebook
Posted by: | CommentsDuring my recent trip to DC, I stopped in a Barnes & Noble to escape the awful heat, and I came across a great little notebook that I had not seen in any of the usual office supply stores to review. I was hesitant to buy it because I was skeptical of buying a brand that I never saw before, but I am glad I picked it up, it was the Pistachio Recycled Monogram Notebook.
